Beauty and the Knight ± Chapter 8

So its official Khalid and I are a couple.

I would never dare in a million years to do something like this.

Being in a room,

Alone,

With a guy.

But with Khalid it just feels different.

We spent the night, had breakfast the next day, called my parents which i had to do whenever i'm not at home. 

Then Khalid and i then  went out.

I called Maitha to check where she is, to meet her up at round 12.

Khalid and i were talking about where should i study if i'll be majoring in Interior Design, suddenly he stopped talking, i looked at him confused.

Me: Sho balak?

Khalid: Kint afakir

Me: Fe shoo?

Khalid: Wanna do something daring?

Me: Like?

Khalid: U'll see . . .

A lot of things rushed through my mind, parasailing, diving with the sharks, swimming with the dolphins. But that nots daring, well maybe to him it is.

10 minutes into the drive, we got to this "daring place" and when he said daring.

Believe me, it was.

I was so shocked i just had to tell Maitha.

Shaikha: I'm Skydiving today

Maith: WAT!

Maith: With who!!??

Maith: I'm at JBR

Maith: I'm coming there to witness that!

I left my phone in the car.

We got into the building,

I got instructed on how to do things.

Got on the tiny white plane.

Khalid was with me, i held his hand so strong.

I never came over my fear of flying.

Khalid looked at me and said "You'll be fine don't worry, ana wiach "

Staff: Who wants to go first ?

Khalid: Us!

Staff: Ok strap on and get ready

Khalid grabbed me and and strapped us together.

I looked at him confused and screamed " What are you doing! "

He just looked at me with a smile.

I turned around and looked at one of the staff members on board.

Me: Wat is he doing!

Staff: You both will be jumping together

Me: With him! He's going to kill me!

Staff: Don't worry he's a professional skydiver

I just looked at Khalid confused.

Thats something he missed out on telling me.

Just standing on the edge of the door.

I felt like just pushing back.

Me: Khalid i'm scared

Khalid: Don't worry 7abeeebee (kiss on the cheek) you'll be fine

Me: Can we not go first

Khalid: Too late

Just saying those two words, in a split second we were up in the air falling to the ground.

13 000 feet above the ground

I just knew i was gonna die.

That adrenaline rush, 

Just feels amazing,

the 2-3 min drop

I just didn't want it to end.

As we landed i felt like my leg tingled, i stood up and i couldn't walk properly. 

I sat for a minute and got up again.

Khalid: Haa? Sho entee? How was it?

Me:  Ya 7mar! why didn't you count to 3 ! u just went too late and jumped! 

Khalid: (laughs) Shoo asawee, it was that moment i just had to do it

Me: AND WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME UR A PROFESSIONAL SKYDIVER!

Khalid: (with a smile) Its slipped my mind

I just gave him a look and walked away to the building. 

As i got in i saw Maitha and Abdullah (her boyfriend) there.

Maitha rushed towards me,

Maitha: HOW WAS IT !

Me: Amazing!

Maitha: Were you scared?

Me: Yah but it was worth it.

Maitha: Lucky! Abdulla wouldn't let me

Me: Convince him, randomly out of nowhere khalid got me here

* Khalid interrupts *

Khalid: Tbein tishrbein shay?

Me: May bas

Khalid: ok 

Maitha: Is he ok?

Me: Ma3arf. i'll go check he was just fine.

Maitha: Ok

Me: Can you go get the CD for me 'til i finish from him and change into wat i was wearing

Maitha: Okay

I went to Khalid, he looks a bit mad which scared me, which also was the first time i ever saw him that way. 

Me: Sho balak?

Khalid: Mno wia Maitha?

Me: Her boyfriend why?

Khalid: Leish yaybtnah ?

Me: Kanat wiah when i texted her 

Khalid: Goolilha mara thaniah ma teebah 3endech

Me: But he wasn't with us

Khalid: Mayhemny kan mawjoud ho, mara thaniah mayee

Me: Leish?

Khalid: Sho leish Shaikha, ma'3ar ya3nee?

By just him saying that it struck me, mayed was never jealous when i was around guys or anything. He was fine with everything. The only thing he was, was just protective of me, didn't want to lose me. Too bad he already did. 

Me: Ok i'll tell her.

Khalid: Yallah get ready we'll go have lunch 

Me: Ok let me go change 

I left Khalid and went to change into what i was wearing. Got my CD from Maitha and told her i'll talk to her later, and meet up with her in the afternoon. 

I got into the car put my stuff in the back and grabbed my phone. 

I got at around 27 missed calls from Mayed,

I started to shake, 

Khalid was already mad about Abdullah being here.

What if i told him Mayed called.

I just stared blankly to my phone.

Khalid: Sho balach?

Me: Can I tell you something bas latez3al

Khalid: Goolee?

Me: Mayed it9al

Khalid: Sho yeba ba3d ha?

Me: And 6arashli msg saying that i should call him explain to him why i deleted him. Should I?

Khalid: Hah ba3d majahalch 3 months wla baraklch 7ag takharujch bayee bayisalch leish you deleted him. ita9lay jidamee choofeeh sho baygool. 

Me: Ok. I'll put him on speaker

Mayed: Alo

Me: {puts it on speaker mode} Mayed

As we got to Meydan, Khalid said that he wanted to show me something.
We got into the elevator escorted by one of the Meydan staff.
I looked at him and whispered "Where are we going " he just looked at me and smiled without saying a word.
There we were standing in front of a door, at that time i knew we will be in a room.
I looked at Khalid and got closer to him,  he looked at me and my face showed that i was scared, he looked at me and said " Don't worry 7abeebee you'll be fine".
We got into the room and it was filled with white and lilac flower arrangements (my favorite).


Meydan staff: Is there anything more i can do for you?
Khalid: No thank you
Meydan staff: enjoy your stay with us here

As she left the room i sat down in the living room, not knowing wat to say i'm just so speechless.
Khalid came and sat next to me.

Khalid: Shoo feech?
Me: mashai,

Khalid: Enzein

Me: So?

Khalid: So sho?

Me: mashai,

Khalid: Shoo klah mashai mashai 

Me: No i just don't know what to say

Khalid: Ok

Me: What are we doing here 

Khalid: Don't you want to be alone with me 

Me: La i do but 

Khalid: But ur shy

Me: Yah a bit

Khalid: Don't be {leans towards me }

Giving me a kiss on my cheeks, guess its my cheeky kisses day, lame i know. 

I got closer to him as he wrapped his arms around me.

I looked into his eyes.

And then it happened.

Something i never got the chance to have with Mayed.

My first kiss.

This felt so real.

I really did not know if this was actually happening.

I pushed myself back and looked at him, he gave me that look that  makes my heart skip a beat, my body melt, and butterflies in my stomach.

He excused himself and went to the toilet. 

I grabbed my blackberry and checked my BBM's.

All congratulating me on my graduation.

Mayed on the other hand didn't even bother to say something. 

I just started feeling the hatred towards him.

I wish i never met him.

Even though it's official now, I'm no longer love Mayed.

He was still my boyfriend once.

Screw him.

I don't need him anymore.

Khalid came out of the toilet and looked at me

Khalid: Are you ok?

Me: Heih

Khalid: Shoo feech?

Me: mashai, mayed just pissed me off, i know i'm no longer  love  him but min bab ali7tram he should've said mabrook atleast

Khalid: If your no longer love him then who do you love?

Me: Some guy i know, 

Khalid: Oh

Me: {getting closer to khalid} and i don't just love him i'm in love with him {tiptoeing to give him a kiss}

Khalid: Sho rayech you delete him

Me: Mayed?

Khalid: Heih

Me: Hmmm, but how do i tell him.

Khalid: Tell him the truth, you no longer love him, and that you moved 

Me: Ok

So i called Mayed and he didn't pickup.

I BBM'd him and waited for around half an hour.

No reply.

Khalid told me to delete him.

And text him why did i delete him and that its over between us.

After doing that i felt like a big weight on my shoulder being lift off.

Khalid smile and said " your all mine now " 

Finally i thought to myself.

*Phone rings*

Khalid: Mnoo?

Me: Ma3rf wait

{Incoming call Maithana} 

Me: Its maitha

Khalid: Ridy choofee shoo teba

Me: ok

{On the phone with maitha}

Maitha: {shouting} WHERE ARE YOU

Me: At meydan 

Maitha: WAT?

Me: MEYDAN

Maitha: WHERE I CAN'T SEE YOU

Me: I'm with khalid  

Maitha: WAT?

Me: WITH KHALID

Maitha: COME WITH HIM TO THE PARTY ITS GOING CRAZY HERE 

i looked at khalid and asked him if he wanted to go to the party, he told me to go and he'll spend the night here, he didn't want to see all the partying especially with the boys.

i went downstair and when maitha said that the party is going crazy, its beyond crazy! 

Jamal and Hend hooking up.

Boys running around in their underwear.

They seem drunk, but they're just too hyper from the Red Bull and Ornamin C they had.

i stayed there for a bit, told maitha that khalid is upstairs alone.

That devil gave me the idea of spending the night with him.

I had to call my parents tell them that i'll be sleeping over at maitha's, to send my stuff to Meydan so that i can just leave with her.

My parents didn't mind as maitha has been with me all my life.

I called my maid and told her wat to pack for me and to get it to the hotel.

Khalid Bin X: Yah babe?

Shaikha: How about i spend the night with you

Khalid Bin X: You can?

Shaikha: Yah i already told my parents i'll be sleeping over at Maitha's

Khalid Bin X: Then get ur but up here now!

Shaikha: Hahahah! give me 10 minutes the driver will drop off my stuff and i'll be coming straight up

Khalid Bin X: Can't wait.

I got my stuff.
Rushed to our room. 

Rang the door bell.

And there he was.

My knight and shining armor.

Beauty and the Knight ± Chapter 6

I explained to Khalid how Mayed and i know each other, it might have bothered Khalid but this hasn't stopped him from talking to me. Over the past 3 months Khalid and i got closer than ever, this happened bcoz Mayed suddenly started pushing me away. Even my feelings towards Mayed started slipping away.

As my high-school graduation came, obviously i had to invite Mayed however he's too busy to come, so I invited Khalid instead, I just hoped that my parents wouldn't see Khalid.



{Graduation Day}

I've been waiting for this day my whole life. I know i'm not graduating from university but come on! Spending almost 13 years in school ! I must be excited for this day.

Walking around the room all you can see is red gowns everywhere. Boys going crazy taking pictures of themselves, and girls getting so nervous some fixing their hair and makeup, some adjusting their sheila, and there was us Me, Maitha and Hend. Gossiping getting excited for the graduates dinner and the after party.

Jamal: The gossip girls
Hend: What do you want?
Jamal: A picture with the gossip girls
Hend: Go away Jamal!
Maitha: Come on! this will be our last time together lets take a picture
Me: okay! we're using one of the girls camers
Jamal: you don't trust me?
Me: Who trusts u jamal?
Jamal: u have a point


Jamal was one of our classmates, no one ever trusted him not even the boys. Jamal was known for pranking all of us especially Hend bcoz she was the shortest one in our class. So we took the picture then gathered for a last senior picture, a sensible one and obviously the boys wanted to take a stupid one so the girls had to do it too.

After that we can hear Mr Hadi calling us.
This was it.
I rushed got my makeup retouched, hair tidy and wore my grad cap back again.

We all stood in line paired with one of the boys and went towards the gradation hall, standing close to the door we call could hear the verve - bittersweet symphony playing, all you could see was the smiles on the graduates face, some boys started dancing, you can here girls screeching and the echo of "omg" going around. 45 seconds into the song the line started to move.

I looked down took a deep breath as it was Sager and I's turn to get in the grad hall.

Sager: T7amily et6i7een
Me: wow 9ager thanks for the heads up
Sager: {laughs} smile ya 7lwa its our last day for us all to be together

Just saying this was the last day for us all to be together i got this weird feeling of almost crying. I pulled myself back together and there we were walking into the hall.

All you could here was everyone shouting our names out. I was too nervous to look into the crowd and look for my family and friends, not only my them but Khalid.

As we went through the national anthem and the graduation speech, the graduation video was played, spending 13 years with most of my classmates finally got to me that this was the end, starting september every one of us will be in a university around the world. This just got to me tears started to drop i looked around me and some boys and girls were crying, tissues had to be given around which was the funniest part. After that came the time where we were  getting our diplomas, After the top row was done it was our turn, those who are graduating with distinction. It was Maitha's turn then after her came Shaima, Abdulaziz, Sager, then it was me.

I just saw the joy of the families, how they are all proud of their graduates. I scanned through the crowd just to look for Khalid and see if he was there i already saw my family and friends.

As i walked to get my diploma i could here my name being screamed and horns all around. I stood there to take my picture, i saw almost 2 rows and a half standing up for me, i spotted my parents, my cuzns, my aunts, Zach and to my surprise in the same row as my family and next to Zach was Khalid. I was so shocked. As those who were standing next to me congratulated me i just spoke gibberish and walked away.

As graduation came to an end, i just rushed to my family, saw parents and i just started crying, just feeling the joy of wat i have accomplished, makes me feel so happy that i made both my parents happy.

i was just shocked, i could see khalid had that evil smile on his face

Zach: Shaika! congratulations !
Me: Thank you Zach!
Mom: N7na ban6la3 bara3 bantrayach
Me: ok

As my parents left i look at Zach and Khalid, and explained to me that khalid didn't have anyone to come with him and Zach didn't want to show up alone so they made this plan. I took a group picture with my family and friend, ofc khalid had to be with us in the picture. And in individual picture with my friends.

After that everyone left, only the graduates stayed there as we all got ready to go have dinner, then head to the after party.
As we all headed towards our cars, i saw Khalid, and walked towards him.

Me: Everyone left you know
Khalid: heih adry i was waiting for you
Me: Leish?
Khalid: I miss you, and i wanted to give you this.

He leaned towards me and gave me a kiss on my cheeks, i've been out with him before however he never touched me and we never kissed. My first kiss from khalid. i just blushed and looked away.

Khalid: Shoo feech?
Me: La mashai
Khalid: Wein sayreen ?
Me: Banseer nt3asha fi Atlantis then we'll go to the after party at Meydan hotel
Khalid: Hmmm.. Now batroo7een ma3a mno?
Me: Well my car is waiting then from atlantis we're gonna go to meydan with a limo.
Khalid: How about i pick you up from atlantis and take you to meydan
Me: Its ok msh lazm eta3b 3mrk
Khalid: But i want to
Me: We'll talk on BBM yalla lazm nel7ag 3a our reservation its almost 8.
Khalid: ok

And there it was another kiss again.

While we were having dinner i grabbed my phone and saw that i have lots of BBMs, i just looked for khalid and spoke to him

Khalid Bin X: Shaikha i love you 

I just didn't know wat to say i placed my phone on to the table and whispered into Maitha's ear that i'll be going with Khalid and will meet up with the rest of the graduates at Meydan. 

Jamal: I cant wait for prom next week!

Hend: You can't to go to the toilet

Jamal: I can't wait to dance with you tonight and prom for the last time

Hend: Ew go away you perv! 

Those two would make a great funny couple. 

By 10 we all left the restaurant and head towards the limo's the boys go on one and the girls got on the other. Maitha explained to them that i'll be going with my own car as they all know how claustrophobic i am. As both limo's left Khalid was no where to be found. So i had to call

Me: Weink?!

Khalid: Hmmm

Me: Sho hmm weink?

I could hear a voice next to me and on the phone " Here " and grabbed my hand.

This is just so perfect.

He looked at me with a wide smile.

Gave the valet attendant his ticket

Pulled me closer to him and gave me a kiss on my head. 

Khalid: Promise me next time we go out you wont wear heels

Me: Next time?

Khalid: Yah

Me: But i'm still shorter than you with heels

Khalid: i like it when ur short and without heels

i just laughed and looked down to my phone. No calls from my parents or anything.

As Khalid's car came, He grabbed my hand tight and we both walked towards the car.

We both got into the car, i just looked at him and smiled.

This night will turn out great..

Khalid Bin X: And we use to always go to the Hyde park together 

Khalid Bin X: You had a scooter and i had my skates on

Khalid Bin X: And i envied you cuz u had a scooter

Shaikha: Yaaa and i use to hide behind my nanny cuz u scared me

Shaikha: Believe me the darkest kid i've ever seen 

We spent hours talking, remembering the things we did that summer, it was only that summer, the first time we met, spent it together for almost 3 and half months. Ever since that last summer we never went back to london. 

{later that day}

Saturday afternoon was the best, my friends and i would gather somewhere for an afternoon tea which we thought was stupid at first randomly more people started joining us after they heard of it. It was either at my house or any of my friends, or at times go out to a coffee shop and have it there. This week it was at my place. Maitha and Hend go here first so ofc we had to catch up with our gossip before the rest of the girls came

Maitha: So hows Khalid?

Hend: Who's khalid?

Me: The handsome guy at the carnival

Hend: OMG you talk to him

Me: Yah, turns out we spent one summer together 

Maitha: YOU WAT!

Me: Yah imagine

i went on and told her about wat happened during my tennis practice, and that summer 

Hend: {laughs} What he did was so cute !

Maitha: OMG yah!

Hend: What about Mayed?

Me: Wat about him?

Hend: Are you still with him?

Me: YAH! what are you crazy i would never leave him! 

Maitha: TBH i think ur better off without mayed

Me: Why?

Maitha: A7s ho makhth n9 ur happiness 

Hend: What do you mean

Me: Yah

Maitha: Like, he doesn't allow you to go out with us at times, he doesn't let you go to an endurance race, tournament yala yala he says yes

Me: Yah, but u know how protective he is of me 

Maitha: But haven't you thought of ending it?

Me: It's been 2 years how can i leave him?

Hend: Yah its like they're married 

Maitha: But don't you think he's controlling your life

I just stayed quiet and haven't said a word, mayed is overprotected and does control my life but i love him so much and i really dont want to lose him.

So the girls came and we had our afternoon tea.

as it came close to 6 i had to run to my room and call mayed to wake him up..

Me: Good morning

Mayed: Halaaa

Me: Its 7 3ndkom wake up, you have some training to do 

Mayed: Bansh ww baklmch 

Me: Make it quick cuz my friends are downstairs 

Mayed: Give me 5 minutes ok?

Me: Ok babe bye

Mayed: bye

i went to my dressing room did some retouch to my hair and makeup, til mayed called back

Mayed: Shakhbarech babe?

Me: Tamam you?

Mayed: B5eir al7amdila, khabreenee shu saweity alyoom?

Me: I went to my tennis lesson

Mayed: Heih you told me

Me: Ohh today, my parents told me about this cuz who i went to tennis camp with when i was a kid

Mayed: Mnoo?

Me: Khalid Bin X

Mayed: Ha! Khalid Khalaf?

Me: Yah? How do you know him

Mayed: We went to school together 

Me: Sho?

Mayed: We use to be close friends til grade 10 

Me: Really?

Mayed: YAH!

Me: wow okay

He just went on and on about how they use to be friends and how their friendship ended, telling mayed about him wasn't necessary, that i met him, i added him and i played tennis with him 

Mayed: But he is a really good tennis player 

Me: Yah ybaly al3ab ma3ah 

Mayed: Shoo  geltee yga63 

Me: mashay i just said that my friends are over so baroo7lhom

Mayed: Ohh so the afternoon tea at your place today {british accent}

Me: hh yh 

Mayed: Yalla bakhaleech go to them 

Me: okay bye

Me: Ha?

Mayed: Mashay i love you?

Me: Ohhh yah i love you

Mayed: Amooot feech, bye 

Me: Bye

My mind was too busy thinking, i just can't believe that my boyfriend and the guy i just met were once best friends, and now enemies over some stupid girl they fought about back in high school. 

I went downstairs sat with my friends and it got close to 7 some left and some stayed for a bit then left. 

As my friends all left i just went to where we all sat and grabbed my blackberry and started talking to Khalid
